The Friends of the Alleghany Highlands Regional Library (also called “the Friends” or “FOL”) is an volunteer organization that supports library projects and programs. Their efforts fund the majority of children’s programming and the library’s annual Summer Reading Program. They also help keep the library beautiful by providing funds for grounds maintenance.
The Friends maintain a regular section of “For Sale” items within the Library, and host an annual “Book Bonanza Sale” each year in August.
Join Your Friends ... At the Library!
The FOL meet on the 3rd Tuesday of January, March, May, July, September and November at 5:30pm in the W.N. “John” Rice Community Room.
The various levels of support are:
Individual - $5
Family - $10
Bronze - $25
Silver - $50
Gold - $75
Platinum - $100
Pay in person or by mailing your check (payable to Friends of the Alleghany Highlands Regional Library) to:

The Adopt-a-Shelf program is a fundraiser for the Friends of the Alleghany Highlands Regional Library. Any shelf, display case, or computer area of the Library may be "adopted" by making a small donation to the Friends. In return for your donation, a marker will be displayed with your name or a dedication of your choosing. All adoptions are good for one year from the date of adoption.
